The First Punic War
The Punic Wars were fought by between Rome and Carthage. All three of the wars went 264 B.C to 146 B.C. By 264 B.C. Carthage was the most wealthiest and most advanced city in the region, as well as the region's leading navel power. Syracuse and Messina were in a depute about Sicily. Carthage supported Syracuse and Rome Supported Messina. This caused an out break between the two direct powers. In 241 B.C. The Roman army was able to win a battle at sea which broke Carthage legendary navel superiority. And the Punic war Sicly became Rome's first overseas province.

The Second Punic War
After the first Punic War Rome took control over control of both Corsica and Sardinia.Carthage was able to establish a new base of influence in Spain beginning in 237 B.C. The Carthage took Spain's army and marched through Iberian city witch was under Romes protection. This effectively declared war on Rome. this was the start of the second Punic war. At the end of the war Rome gained control of Spain and Carthage had to give up its fleet and pay a large amount of silver to Rome.
CarthageCarthage was a large city state in northern Africa. It had three wars involving fighting the Romans so that Africa wouldn't become a province of Rome. In the first war Carthage's surrounding islands were attacked by Romans. The Romans inevitably captured the surrounding islands, and marked there rise in power for their navy. After that, a new general was elected for Carthage. The new general's name was Hannibal. He lead the Carthage warriors to Rome. Then, the leader of the Roman army, Scipio the young defeated them. After that, the Romans destroyed Carthage.

RomeBy the time of the Punic wars Rome was the major fight party of the Peninsula of Italy. They were dominate in land, and sea. They were in the process of conquering everything on the eastern hemisphere.
